An earlier and much scarcer Friedberg number for this unredeemable uniface design. Only 18,000 Fr. 1225e notes were printed, and just 24 examples are listed in today's census. This note was payable to the Corn Exchange National Bank of Philadelphia, PA, and was roulette cancelled in Philadelphia in 1912. It was also punch hole cancelled and has some stains and water damage from the historic fire. While problem-free examples exist, there's something about the connection to history that lures collectors towards securing an example that pairs rarity with the unforgettable night this collectible barely survived the blazing flames of Washington D.C. in December 1935.
