An attractive Hundred Dollar Gold Coin note. This $100 1922 Gold Certificate features the portrait of Thomas Hart Benton, who served in both the U.S. Senate, 1821-1851, and in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1853-1855. Immediately to the right of the portrait oval, "200" has been written lightly in pencil...this is what's responsible for the comment of 'annotation' on the back of the holder. This note retains a bright orange back and isn't dull and faded as many circ examples seem to become.
