A Piece of Disney Magic : Walt Disney Wood From Garage of Disney's First Hollywood Workshop

Walt Disney didn’t just create stories — he gave life to worlds that danced between wonder and the uncanny.

When Walt Disney arrived in Hollywood in 1923, he had little more than a suitcase, ambition, and a dream. He lived with his uncle Robert at 4406 Kingswell Avenue, where he transformed a humble backyard garage into his very first Hollywood animation studio. It was here that he built an animation stand and worked on his first animated reel — a series of cartoon jokes he hoped to sell to the Pantages Theater Company.

These wood fragments come directly from that legendary garage, the birthplace of the Walt Disney Studios empire. From this modest structure, Walt would launch a creative revolution that eventually gave the world Mickey Mouse, Snow White, and decades of cinematic magic.

Owning a piece of this original garage wood is like holding a relic from the moment when Disney’s imagination began to shape the world.
