A crackling fresh note, this offering displays prominent embossing and deep colors. It also represents the scarce Late Finished Plate 307 variety. Face plate 307 was begun on April 6, 1936. Then it was stored in the plate vault until being discovered in 1942. The plate was finished on July 3, 1942, and it was then put to use from July 9, 1942 to June 3, 1943. All this means is that face plate 307 is a macro plate number, but plate number 307 comes from the micro plate number range.
Heritage Auctions most recently sold this note one point higher for $1,440 in May 2024. Save nearly $550 and have it delivered for $995.
