Sometimes known as the Third Bank of the United States, this bank retained its name but was operating under a Pennsylvania state charter from early 1836 until it suspended on September 4, 1841. This $5000 post note features the bank's headquarters in Philadelphia with a vignette of Liberty seated next to a scroll inscribed POST NOTE 5000 on the left and a portrait of William Penn on the right. This note has retained original surfaces and exceptional eye-appeal making this an intelligent selection for a collector that's been waiting for this elusive note to surface. It's the first we've owned in several years as they're not nearly as available as they once were.
