President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Joseph W. Barr as the Undersecretary of the Treasury from 1965-1968. Upon resignation of Henry H. Fowler, Joseph W. Barr became the 59th Secretary of Treasury on December 21, 1968. Twenty-eight days later, Barr resigned---the shortest Treasurer to hold office.
This G-H block Chicago district Barr note has a high grade that will please an eager collector.
