$100 1929 FRBN Fr.1890-D BROWN SEAL HUNDRED - CLEVELAND Federal Reserve Bank XF

A distinctive brown-seal hundred from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland! This Series 1929 $100 Federal Reserve Bank Note, cataloged as Fr. 1890-D, bears the Jones–Woods Treasury signatures, brown serial numbers, and the Cleveland bank title prominently displayed on the face. Benjamin Franklin’s portrait is paired with the familiar engraving of Independence Hall on the back.

Although dated Series 1929, these notes were introduced as emergency currency during the banking crisis of 1933. The $100 represents the highest denomination in the small-size Federal Reserve Bank Note series, adding historical interest to this substantial denomination.

Offered in Extremely Fine condition, this example is a fitting addition to a Cleveland district collection, a brown-seal denomination set, or a collection exploring America’s Depression-era currency.
