$5 1902-ND First National Bank at Pittsburgh, PA Ch# 252 Blue Seal Very Fine
This Series 1902 $5 National Bank Note from the First National Bank at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charter #252, features Benjamin Harrison’s portrait, a blue Treasury seal, and the bank’s prominently engraved title. The green reverse displays the Landing of the Pilgrims vignette, a classic example of the historical imagery found on large-size American currency.
The bank adopted its “First National Bank at Pittsburgh” title in 1918, following the 1913 merger of Pittsburgh’s First and Second National Banks. This note preserves that chapter of local banking history, connecting its distinctive bank title to one of America’s great industrial cities.
Offered in Very Fine condition, this example has one area of light discoloration near the top center of the face.
