$10 1934-A North Africa WWII Emergency Issue Fr. 2309 Yellow Seal PCGS Ch AU 58

This Series 1934-A $10 North Africa Silver Certificate, Fr. 2309, features Alexander Hamilton’s portrait, blue serial numbers, and the distinctive yellow Treasury seal associated with America’s World War II emergency currency. An engraving of the U.S. Treasury Building fills the reverse. Certified PCGS Choice About Uncirculated 58, this example offers near-uncirculated preservation of a historically significant wartime issue.

Despite its 1934-A series date, this emergency currency was introduced beginning in 1942 for American forces serving in North Africa and Europe. The yellow seal allowed the notes to be readily identified and declared worthless if captured by enemy forces, protecting military funds from enemy use. Its recognizable design, wartime purpose, and Choice AU condition make it an appealing addition to a North Africa denomination set or a collection of World War II currency.
