$20 1891 Treasury Note, Fr. 375 MARSHALL Open Back Scarce Note + Great Look! PMG Ch Unc 63

Treasury or Coin Notes were redeemable in coin, which could be either gold or silver at the discretion of the Secretary of the Treasury. This scarce note bears the portrait of John Marshall who was Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1801 until his death in 1835. This offering is a nicely margined note with bright paper and very bold ink colors. PMG mentions a minor restoration, but nothing is readily apparent even after close scrutiny.
