A brightly colored and well-printed example of this final Tombstone type with the blue seal at the right and blue "X" at the left. This pretty, well margined note shows little evidence of circulation and faces up nicer than some Uncirculated examples on today's market.
An added piece of trivia for the note: A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Treasurer of the United States Lee McClung played college football from 1888-91 at Yale University. Yale's record for those four years was 54-2. Those were also the four years that Walter Camp was the Yale coach. Yale outscored their opponents 2,269 to 49 during those 56 games. McClung scored 494 points during his college career. He received College Football Hall of Fame honors in 1963.
Enjoy this stunning Tombstone with a look that far transcends its technical grade for a price that's destined to please an intelligent collector. We haven't had this example in stock in quite some time, so if you've been patiently waiting for its appearance, we wouldn't recommend waiting too long because it may be a few years before we have another.
