$5 1953-A Silver Certificate MISALIGNED OVERPRINT ERROR with RARE BEP REJECTION TAG PMG Ch Unc 64

Wow! This note gives us multiple reasons to be excited! First of all, any error on a silver certificate is impressive; however, this note is much more than just a blue seal mistake! This note features a misaligned overprint as the serials, signatures, and blue seal are shifted upwards. Now, here's what makes this note really cool: on the bottom right of the face there is a red rectangle. That is a rejection tag that was applied at the BEP by an inspector indicating this note was detected to have a mistake and marked for destruction. Fortunately for the error collectors, it never made it to the incinerator; instead, it was released through normal banking channels and is now available as an impressive mistake with a terrific story preserved in pristine condition! Congratulations to the collector that takes home this trophy.
