A variety of this unredeemable Friedberg number where "Assistant" is blacked out at center, the payable to clause states the "Federal Reserve Board" in a slightly slanted font, followed by a printed "Washington, D.C., May 4, 1917." "Washington Issue" has also been printed near the lower left serial number. It has the usual perforation/roulette cancellation. This example with nice inks and paper is housed in a PMG slab that mentions the commonly found water staining on this note that miraculously survived the 1935 postal fire!
