Only six in private hands–this is the 3rd finest with no others in this grade. The finest known is an EF40 that brought $180k in a SBG sale in 2018. The most recent sale was a poorly trimmed VF20 with obvious “restoration” and no top margin that brought $78k at HA in 2021. This note screams VF all day with superb margins, cherry red seal and serials, and most importantly: the bronze overprint remains gold and has neither oxidized to green nor eroded through to the back. PMG notes "minor restoration," but that was accomplished discreetly and is difficult to find without scrutiny. A key opportunity to acquire this great rarity.
