1943 Steel Cent and US Steel Corp. Stock Certificate |
Following the attack at Pearl Harbor, the US had to modify the components in our coinage from copper to steel/ zinc so the copper could be used for materials in World War II. This set includes a 1943 Steel/Zinc Cent and a United States Steel Corporation Stock Certificate. The 1943 Steel/Zinc Penny is a nice average circulated example from the P Mint that’s free of tin pest or corrosion. The Stock Certificate has a center vignette that features an inside-look of the workers in a steel foundry. It was issued by the United States Steel Corporation and engraved by the American Bank Note Company. The stock certificate has been cancelled. As we have multiple certificates in stock, it may vary in color (gold, green, brown), serial number, shares, recipient, cancel date, preferred/ common stock, or issuer. This Steel Pair makes an exciting addition to even the finest of collections, as it is worthy of a coveted spot on a wall in a home, office, or den. It also serves to be an incredible gift for history buffs, coin collectors, jewelers, young numismatists, and steel enthusiasts. |
