 The Britannia Series by The Royal Mint The Royal Mint's Britannia series made its debut in 1987 and has consistently ranked among the world's most sought-after coin collections. While the design of Britannia coins has undergone slight modifications over the years, they all share a common theme: a depiction of Britannia standing on a rock, holding a trident. Each coin also bears the inscription "Britannia" and the year of minting. Collectors hold the Britannia coin series in high regard, with particular value placed on coins from earlier years. In 2023, The Royal Mint issued the last Britannia coin featuring the likeness of the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
