Radar Notes: What Are They and What Are They Worth?

What's a radar? On the topic of paper money, a radar, refers to a serial number that reads identically forwards and backwards.  For example, 11022011.

Why do we call them radars? The simple answer is because "palindrome" doesn't have the same ring to it! Just like the word radar, radar serials can be read the same from both directions.

What are radar notes worth? As with any collectible, condition is cruicial when assigning a value. Many $1 radars tend to sell for $10-$50 while others including quad center radars, super radars, and those appearing on different denominations may bring considerably more.
