PRINTED FOLD

“Printed or exterior folds demonstrate a portion of the design intended for one side printed on the opposite side of the note. Currency paper is subject to being folded along the entire route from blank sheet to finished product. Whenver a section of the sheet folds over onto itself prior to or during contact with a printing plate, a printed fold error ensues. The sheet may remain folded after the printing or open prior to subsequent, if any, printing operations and the cutting knives. The ultimate shape of the note depends upon whether the sheet unfolds before being cut.”

note grades:

VERY GOOD

-Please review the images for a greater understanding as to the quality of the piece to determine whether or not it would be a complimentary addition to your collection. There is old tape residue along the margins and the top margin has a few splits and absent pieces.

 additional comments:

Exciting fold occurred between the 2nd and 3rd print so the series and signatures appear under the flap and the upper right serial number, suffix letter, and treasury seal were printed on top of the flap.

This is a dramatic example that even your non-numismatic friends will understand! The error is exciting; the error on a silver certificate is incredible!
