These sepia colored stamps were printed in honor of centennial of the Pony Express, the mail service utilizing men on horses through the Old West from St. Joseph, MO to Sacramento, CA. The Pony Express was in operation for a year and a half, until the introduction of the telegraph.
Stamp AUTOGRAPHED by American advice columnist, author, radio host, Pauline Esther, "Popo" Phillips -- also known as, Abigail "Abby" Van Buren.
Abby was known her popular advice column Dear Abby that began in 1956 that was published in over 1,400 newspapers with 110 million readers.
In addition to her column, Abby hosted a daily radio program, also named Dear Abby on CBS Radio.
