ONE YEAR TYPE
This note was printed
for a two-month period during April and May of 1933. However, the United States
released them into Puerto Rico
during the recession of 1948-1949 to avoid confusion on the mainland. The
Treasury Department feared the banks would have difficulty sorting them so they
decided to isolate these pieces. Remarkably, they made their way back to the
mainland and are now a sought-after collectible item.
