Description:
an IMPORTANT FISCAL RELIC--dating back 150
years
from a tragic time in the history of the
United States
the outcome of which shaped the nation forever
unfortunately, no matter which side “won”,
both sides lost;
the bloodiest war in US history,
with the loss of more American lives than any conflict prior or
since
from a "fresh" collection
which came from a Southern Gentleman
who quit acquiring notes
in the mid-1970s and
the holdings remained intact until acquired recently by our
firm;
as
the collector recognized that he would never be able to afford the ultra-rare
Montgomery issues, he still took pride in buying pieces of pleasing appearance
and
it gave him great pleasure to show these to friends and family
particular
care taken to select notes with strong
pen signatures
and typically better than average margins, most free of the design frame
this was a modest collection, assembled with limited
means/funds,
although with an eye towards affordable quality
MOST of the SPECIMENS are ENTIRELY
PROBLEM-FREE
therefore
any "REPAIRS" or PATCHES put on
in antiquity—will be described
PLEASE REVIEW the SCANNED IMAGES CAREFULLY
as some notes have faults, such as edge splits, tiny holes,
discoloration, etc which should be evident in the scans
major faults will be described
the NOTE ILLUSTRATED is the
EXACT ONE YOU will RECEIVE;
all are nice representative examples from this historic era
involving the
CIVIL WAR
or the
