$1 1963 FRN green seal front/ $1 1957-B SC blue seal back. Dual Type. From a small group astutely saved by a specialist who noticed the importance of the issue when released in late-1963.
The front bears green seal and serial numbers which were introduced for the first time in 1963 on the one dollar denomination, while the back was printed from a back plate number less than 447 strictly intended for use on the blue seal series 1957-B silver certificates. PCGS correctly identifies these as "mules", reflecting the face of one series type with the back of another. At first blush and to the untrained eye, these monumental discoveries appear to be common notes--until one pauses to grasp the importance.
2011 marks our 30th year in the paper money industry and we have never before offered these; it might be never again. Considering the ultra-scarcity, the price seems insignificant.
