Clifton, KS - $10-$10-$10-$20 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613/639 The First NB Ch. # (W)7178 Uncut Sheet
In the entire realm of US paper money, few items hold a candle to an uncut sheet of large size red seal national banknotes. The example offered here is 1 of only 2 that we've seen during the past decade.
The rich red seal and charter numbers contrast sharply with the blue Treasury and bank serial numbers. There is full selvedge on the top, bottom, and sides of the sheet. The signatures are present, but light. The sheet has been folded softly in the gutter between the second and third notes as well as across the first and last notes.
As individual notes in Choice CU, the four pieces would carry an aggregate value of around $40,000+. Fortunately, it requires no premium to maintain this historic piece of fiscally important paper money intact in uncut form.
Sheet grades PCGS-55 PPQ CHOICE ABOUT NEW.. With most all of the Red Seal sheets long spoken for in collections, expect this prize to be gone quickly.
