$1 1995 FRN from CHICAGO. The BACK PLATE is ENGRAVED in the WRONG SIZE. The "type example" of an engraving error for the collector seeking a high grade, inexpensive piece.
Scarce ENGRAVING ERROR with the BACK PLATE 295 ENGRAVED in MICRO SIZE. With this error, the workman executed the back at 0.6mm (the correct size for Washington, DC)--rather than the correct 1.0mm size for the Fort Worth Facility.
This is listed as an R-4 mistake in the 3rd edition of United States Paper Money Errors by Frederick J. Bart, where common examples carry a value of $50 in CU.
The specialists will want to know tht this is the G-N block from run 12 with one of the well known face plates. The Collectors Guide to $1 FRNs by Robert Azpiazu places a value of $25 on this in "generic" CU. This includes two notes, however.
Every collection of errors must have an engraving error to be complete.
Not only do you receive the back plate 295 engraving error, but also the CONSECUTIVE "NORMAL" (NON-ERROR)note
Note grades GEM CRISP UNCIRCULATED.
